Q&A with Megamind Abacus Academy Franchisee Archana Leekha
Why did you become a franchisee?
Being a mom of two beautiful girls, I had always struggled to find good places in Caledon where the students were given extra attention to succeed. I was drawn to Megamind Abacus because it is a successful business model that helps me give back to the community. I am very fortunate to be a part of the Megamind family.
How did you choose your franchise?
I was impressed with the “two in one” model of Megamind Abacus wherein their signature Mental Math program helps wean students away from using calculators, and their tutoring program helps improve grades in school.
What do you enjoy most about being a franchisee?
The amount of job satisfaction you get from seeing your students improve their grades and building their self-confidence. I recently had a parent come to me with tears in their eyes saying, “My child has just received the most improved student award.” At the end of the day, you are proud that you have made a difference in a child’s life.
In what ways do you support or get involved in your local community? Why is this important to you?
My location is in Caledon West, and it is a very close-knit community. Whenever there is an opportunity, I try to participate in any local events in the community. Recently, I was one of the sponsors at Caledon’s Easter Egg Hunt. Also, our summer art camp participants submit entries in the Caledon Fall Fair every year and win numerous prizes.
